Sony Exec expects May or June reveal for PlayStation 4

A Sony executive has said he expects the PlayStation 4 will be revealed at this year’s E3 in June or possibly at a separate event in May.  Hiroshi Sakamoto, Sony’s Japanese VP of Home Entertainment was interviewed by emol.com. When asked whether we would see a new PlayStation model in the next few months he replied “That’s still a big secret, but our friends are preparing Sony PlayStation. I can only say that we are focused on the E3 gaming event, scheduled for June.’s Announcement may be in that minute or even earlier in May.”

As an executive Sakamoto is likely to have some solid insider information but Sony have been notoriously reluctant to discuss a new model. Only last week Sony CEO Kaz Hirai was asked about a PlayStation 4 and he deftly avoided giving away any information so Sakamoto’s thoughts are unlikely to have been authorised by Sony.

If his expectations are proved right then the new PlayStation reveal is coming much sooner than later. What with the new Xbox reveal also expected in June E3 2013 could go down in videogame history as one of the most exciting ever.
